Orita's Japanese Fusion Cuisine was named after my family name and was officially opened to the general public on 16th January 2001 IN TOORAK.
My dream since the age of 15 was to have my own restaurant in the country I love most. I decided that this country was to be Australia when I came here for the first time. This was twenty years ago when I first visited Australia to do market research for the Hyatt International. Then eight years later I had the opportunity to be back again to do the opening set up of Hyatt Regency Adelaide Shiki Restaurant as the Area Japanese Chef for Hyatt Asia Pacific.
My Vision is to implement my 55 years of Traditional Japanese Cooking experience in a Modern Art Form. I wish to express my Food Artistry, in the form of my personal recipes, as a new standard of cuisine where food and wine are harmoniously balanced with the surroundings and ambience of my restaurant.
After 16 years of running the business in Toorak I decided to move to Balnarring Village where I plan to be semi retired but still yet be in touch of my passion and hobbie of a Naturist , gardening and fishing.
I carefully selected my team in order to deliver the best quality product for my guests. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank them for their support.
